Chicken Talk: Learn all about Backyard Chickens

Meet our friend and Chicken EXPERT, Jeff Raska, as he leads us through an interesting class on how to raise chickens in the urban/backyard environment. Jeff serves as our Dallas County Horticultural Program Assistant as well as the County Urban Horticultural Educator & Urban Chicken Educator. His knowledge is vast and this class will be geared for chicken owners of all calibers. Whether you are a chicken veteran or a newbie you’ll find something new and interesting in this class.

Jeff will outline what to do and “not to do” to make your backyard flock flourish! He will also cover topics such as housing, bedding, feeding, healthcare and choosing the best breeds for the backyard flock. A Q&A session will follow the presentation, where more advanced chicken owners may ask their specific questions. The Chicken Talk is completely free but we ask you register!
